Jamia masjid was built by the great ruler Sultan Sikandar of the 14th century. Later it was enlarged by his son Zain-ul-Abidin. The latest renovation was done during the reign of Maharaja Pratap Singh.

How To Reach
The Srinagar airport being 14 km from the city, different airlines such as Jet airways, Kingfisher airways, Spice jet, Indian Airlines, Air Deccan etc provides travelling facilities from Delhi and Mumbai to Srinagar respectively.
